Services

Please see below for a general list of services we provide. If you don’t see what you are looking for, get in touch with our staff, we are always looking for new opportunities to partner with landowners.

Fisheries Habitat Enhancement & Restoration

At HCWC, we believe that locally sourced materials and naturally present habitat features provide the best templates for enhancing and restoring productive habitat in degraded rivers, lakes, and streams. We pride ourselves on blending our projects into the landscape. If we’ve done our job right, you won’t be able to distinguish our work from Mother Nature’s.

Watershed, Lake & Stream Resource Management

Water doesn’t lie. Often times, degraded streams are a sign of larger, watershed management issues. High Country Water Consultants looks at the big picture when assessing the health of lakes and streams in order to inform the individual land and water resource management action.

We provide sustainable nutrient management solutions paired with detailed water quality testing and analysis to our clients.

Fly Fishing Lessons and Guiding

Do you have a beautiful stretch of New Mexico water but need customized fishing recommendations or guiding services for you or your guest? HCWC can provide half day and full day guided fishing sessions and lessons. Contact our staff for details.

Traditional Flood Irrigation Infrastructure Assessments and General Consulting

New Mexico has an amazing collection of acequia systems that have nourished small communities and families for generations. As water resources continue to change in an increasingly variable climate the need to maintain and improve these traditional irrigation systems has never been more important. HCWC has water resource experts with backgrounds in flood irrigation infrastructure and can help you apply for grant funding, conduct surveys, and design / advise on irrigation system improvements.

Riparian Restoration

Clean, productive streams and lakes require healthy and diverse riparian vegetation for shade, filtration, and wildlife habitat. HCWC can make planting and management recommendations to landowners interested in enhancing this important landscape feature.
